So guys, what did you think of Kick-Ass 2? =D

I thought it was awesome seeing what they kept in the film from the comics, as well as seeing the differences!

Favorite part?
Favorite "OH SHIT" moment?
Did you see it in costume (went as Hit-Girl to my showing!)?

**SPOILERS IN COMMENTS!!**

Favourite Part would have to be the sick stick scene which I think should've been longer and more embarrassing for the mean girls especially Brooke (karma bitch) seeing as how she used Hitgirl and got rid of her the second she saw that she was being threatened (Dancing) It would've been nice and satisfying seeing the stuck up "rich bitch" and her two cronies not be to get to the bathroom and vomiting and shitting in the cafiteria in front of everyone destroying their"Queen Bee" control over the school as well as running from Hitgirl only for her to hit them again.

Favourite "OH SHIT" Moment would defiantly have to be the scene where Mother Russia takes out the cops all by herself. I think she was a total badass and I really enjoyed her final fight with Hitgirl.

& No I didn't

I loved it. I REALLY wish that I had my Hit Girl costume at the moment, but now that I have it I'm in hopes of a third one. Mother Russia was such a great character, and I thought Motherfucker was an awesome villain. I can't believe the shark wasn't dead! Hit Girl was totally great as usual, and I was glad to see Dave man up. Jim Carrey played a great Colonel Stars and Stripes. I don't want to spoil it any more then I may have had, but it was a cool movie.

Wow, sounds like I’m the only one who was a little disappointed with KickAss2. Don’t get me wrong, I thought it was really funny and it was great to be back with these characters and I saw the film 6 times at cinemas, but I felt it could have been so much better. Here’s Davoe’s KickAss2: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly:

The Good:
Every time Dave and Mindy were on screen together they were electric, a great partnership. They really spark off each other and those training scenes were good fun and they have a nice respect for each other. For me Dave and Mindy were the heart of the movie. I know the controversial ‘kiss’ has been discussed elsewhere but it didn’t seem to bother me. As long as they don’t go too far down this road, I’m cool with that. Colonel Stars was awesome and Justice Forever were brilliant (although they were underused). The ToxicMegaCunts were hilarious, MotherFucker, MotherRussia and the others, brilliant. Kick-Ass himself, great to see him become a badass superhero with some interesting costume upgrades, with a nice nod to BigDaddy when he wears his armour (should have included and emotional suiting up scene). Uncle Ralph’s cameo. Great scene, wow he is evil, He has to be the big bad for KickAss3, he had the threat and menace and intensity that the Motherfucker was lacking. Javier was a great and likeable character. The score was good, little flavours of the first score together with some new stuff. Justice Forever’s first mission and Mother Russia’s cop scene were good fun and coupled with great music. Many of the scenes mirrored the comic almost frame to frame and that was cool to see. Special mention for Eisenhower! Best scene: Not sure yet, need to watch the DVD, but I liked the ‘Dave comforts Mindy scene’ after her humiliation when Dave wears his 'I hate reboots Tshirt!' Credit to Jeff Wadlow for this was a scene that wasn’t in the comics and proof that he can write good stuff when needed.

The Bad:
I know Hit-Girl is awesome but she was so toned down, she should have been the ultimate badass. I was really disappointed at how lame they made Hit-Girl. She was absolutely brutal in the first movie. Reallu disappointed. The script could have done with a polish, there was some awful stuff here. I think it lacked the sharpness and wit and satire and cleverness that Jane Goldman brought for the first movie. Direction, the action scenes seemed just a little too ordinary, yes they were fun, but the action scenes in the first were exceptional. I actually feel sorry for Jeff Wadlow. There was no way he could have bettered the first movie and I think he did his best with the resources available but, as a standalone film it just seems average. The whole film definitely lacked Matthew Vaughn’s stylish direction. The ending, what happened to the superb ending in the comic with Hit-Girl in chains? Instead she’s leaving NewYork – where is she going? They should have had the guts to go with the comic ending. A lot of the nice scenes from the comic were left un-adapted, especially from the Hit-Girl Series. Although somewhat interesting, the ‘mean girls’ subplot and the High School stuff was lost on me. I want to see Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl in costume kicking ass. Nuff said.

The Ugly:
The SIC Stick. WTF? Poor and crass pay-off to the mean girls subplot. I thought we were dealing with the real world, what was that device? The boyband ‘product placement’. Not against the group in question and I can see why they used it, but the way it was shoehorned into the movie to sell the music was clumsy and bad. Poor scene. The rape scene culminating in a joke, no no no. Rape is not funny. The bad script writing with Katie dumping Dave and Ass-Kicker’s defection. Had Jeff Wadlow actually watched the first movie??? The soundtrack, some good tunes but some of it was meh, I mean who are these people on the soundtrack? Maybe I’m getting old, but in the first movie, Matt Vaughn knew how to pick a tune.

Overall a 6 out of 10 for me. However, don’t get me wrong. I am so pleased we got the sequel, but I hope the powers that be realise that something wasn’t quite right with this film and that things have to be rectified before KickAss3 is green lit. By the way KickAss3 has to happen. I need to see this trilogy completed. But this time, don’t go large scale, keep it small scale and intense and awesome and emotional like the first movie. That is the way to go.

Loved everything about the movie except the ending! I was soo disappointed about the end I felt it was a cop out from the comics. I went half in costume our theate
are really strict after the Batman shooting so I wore my HG skirt, belt, pants and boots.
Oh shit moment: every Mother Russia scene she was played brilliantly!

Favorite scene: racing Marcus home I loved it!

I don't think I can pick a favourite part! It was all so fucking awesome! I loved all of it.

There were a lot of moments when I said "OH SHIT". Like when The Mother Fucker killed Dave's dad, or when Mother Russia killed Colonel Stars and Stripes, actually, any part with Mother Russia! Bitch was strong, I was a little worried when Hit Girl went up against her, but come on! It's Hit Girl! XD She kicks ass. I also went "Oh shit!" when The Mother Fucker fell into the shark tank. I actually liked him. XD His outfit was badass! I know he survived, I was just thinking that at that moment. Poor Chris, got his dick bit off. XD

I wish I could see it again. I hope they make a third movie, I absolutely love Kick-Ass, and I want more!

I'm really annoyed with people criticizing the movie. In fact, I'm just annoyed with people criticizing everything. Can't people just sit and enjoy a movie and not have to point out every single flaw that doesn't matter? Just enjoy the film! I thought it was good. I fucking enjoyed it. That's that.

Mother Russia was a beast, that's for sure. DAMN. I just think for as intense of a character as she was, she deserved a more intense death. She's stabbed with glass then just.... kneels? We never even see her fall over dead. In the comic her death was extremely intense, and fitting for how powerful the character was. I was hoping we'd see it translated on screen. Then again it also would have been badass to actually see the final fight in Times Square.

Well the set-up is definitely there for a 3rd movie! =D It just depends on how well the 2nd movie does and who they can get on board.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! But people are always going to analyze things. With KA2 we've got the first movie as well as the comics to compare it to. It's pretty interesting comparing the movie to the comic and seeing what they changed/kept!

I really enjoyed it. Hard to say what my favorite part was.
Oh shit moment....pretty much when I understood his Dad was marked for death. :( He should have known that when you argue/say something to a mentor/loved one you know you are going to regret that they are going to die, Dave.  You read comics.

That was a pretty touching scene. :( Definitely showed a vulnerable side to her that was never really shown before. It was also a great example of Mindy and Dave's friendship (I do not support/see them as a couple. I see them as a brother/sister relationship.). With her dad gone, Dave is really the only person Mindy can talk to. The fact that she thought of going to see him after that traumatic event speaks volumes.

If I could fave that comment I would! Mindy and Dave's relationship and their vulnerability is the heart of this series. They only have each other and it will be interesting to see how this continues in the third movie. I agree, there is no need to make them a couple, I have always seen them as a brother/sister relationship.

I'm so glad somebody else agrees! It seems like everybody is jumping on the Mindy/Dave bandwagon, and I just don't see it. The forced pairing just made me groan at the end. These movies are good enough to where they don't need the obligatory relationship dynamic. I fear for what they put into a third movie in this aspect. :/

I have always seen their relationship as a close brother/sister partnership. However, the first movie maybe slightly hinted that Mindy might have a little crush on Dave (Razul apartment scene and Contact the Mayor's office scene) and I guess it was just an extension from that. (The scene in KA2 where Mindy stares at Dave's abs is funny). I didnt object to 'the kiss' but I agree they dont need to take this any further in KA3, although it is perhaps inevitable. There has been no sign of any relationship in the KA3 comics (at time of writing!)

My friend looked at me strangely the other day, when I said I was looking for them, and said "you know they're violent, right?" ... I was like "Um... yes, but they're good comics?"  ... ah well here's to my friends thinking I'm a flower. :D

Thank you again!

"You think you can kill me with little needle?" *stabs HitGirl with syringe*
*Hitgirl closes her eyes, (audience is silently dying inside) ... HitGirl opens her eyes, laughs, and throws Mother Russia off*
"That's not what it's for.... It's called adrenaline, bitch!"

That. Would be my favourite scene.

Exactly. I know what Hitgirl said in russian to MotherRussia after the glass shard incident, but it's quite ... filled with swearing so I'm not sure whether to post it here or not. something along the lines of
"I thought a c*** like you could take a few pr***s." The whole audience laughed so much at that! Whatever else, HitGirl has her one-liners down perfectly.

I haven't seen it yet, but I read the plot online.
I hated that they gave Night Bitch and Kick-Ass a relationship and that they had them attempt to rape Night Bitch instead of Katie. Rape is bad, anyways, but, you know, that's a MAJOR difference.
I also HATE the very ending. The Motherfucker doesn't lose his legs, he doesn't fall in the shark tank! He falls off a building and gets sent to the hospital. THAT'S IT. How are they going to rejuvenate him for the 3rd one?
Also, I didn't like that the final fight is set in the Motherfucker's lair instead of Times Square.

I might like it after I see it, but for now I'm kinda disappointed. I wanted to see the comic come to life.

I completely agree here. I'm glad Chris survived, but shit, how are they going to pull that off for a 3rd movie??

I think the final fight suffered because it wasn't set in such a grand scale like it was in the comics. It would have been so much more insane had they had it in Times Square. I understand why they couldn't exactly do that, but it still would have been much better.

Thank you! Exactly!
Millar has said time and time again that the whole theme of Kick-Ass is it's basis in reality. Good doesn't always win!
He's also said that The Motherfucker is going to be in the 3rd volume of comics, and that he is considering even having him kill off Kick-Ass just so it's realized how much in reality the story is set, and because Dave can't just carry on with this his whole life.
They're going to have to get him a pair of super strong, awesome robot legs or something, because I don't see him killing anyone in a wheelchair, or hospital bed.

As far as the set goes, they could have just recreated parts of times square to show fighting, and it probably would've held a larger magnitude from that.

They truly should have kept his ending like it was in the comic, because like you said, I have no clue how they're supposed to resurrect the guy to be any pose-able threat in a 3rd movie.

That's true, I can't help but wonder if through some form of studio magic they could have recreated parts of a Times Square for the fight.

Millar's said he's not the main protagonist in the 3rd, but he's definitely in it because the main protagonist is related to him and kinda takes over his life, it's a big plot point!
and I'm sure they could have figured out something, set design isn't as hard as it seems to be XD

I'm jumping in right here!I can understand why they didn't do the time square thing for budget reasons. It would have been cooler.Especially since my favorite part of the kick-ass 2 comic was the part when kick ass and hit girl.Get back to the warehouse and Mindy goes all psycho and takes everybody down. Then goes one by one stabbing them while there down.

But I think theres a chance they might use the bad guy from the hit-girl comic in the next movie?Which would be the uncle that was in jail in the movie. And in the hit-girl comic.I mean maybe I'm wrong but thats kinda how it seemed.

Totally agree!

I was thinking the same thing. I can definitely see Uncle Ralph (I'm pretty sure that's his name?) being the big villain in a 3rd movie. He'd be a lot worse than Frank, making for a pretty big-bad villain. Given that he's head of the D'amico's, I think it's only natural to have things go that way.

Hmmm, I thought it was Good. Me, my best friend and my bro went last night.  It had some great parts. Even the trailers.

Favorite part?: I'd have to say when 'JF' went to rescue those girls.

'Oh Sh*t' Part?: All of Mother Russia's parts especially when she killed those cops WITH A FREAKIN LAWN MOWER! Let me say it again, she got in a police car, where there was already a dead cop on the hood of it after placing a running lawn mower on the trunk, drove backwards and hit the cops coming, sending the lawn mower flying through the wind shield of the car behind her. Killing both cops. You GOTS To Be Kidding Me! Oh yeah, Chuck Liddel in it as well.

omfg I just came back from watching the movie and it was awesome  I have to agree, that was my favorite part when JF saved those girls.  When the girl was like  "But we don't have any money :c"  and then Night Bitch holds up the sack of money.  jfc.  And that girl hugged Night Bitch.  That scene was so sad, it made me feel like I want to save people xD

'Oh Sh*t Part?':   When Mindy used the "Sick Stick".  That vomit scene.  Daamn.  And why didn't Brooke vomit all over Mindy? Why did she turn away instead of vomiting on Mindy?

 Haha, yeah.  I really loved that scene.  Especially how heroic it makes the superheroes sound ;D  It seems like you need someone to discuss Kick Ass 2 with :D  I think I can help you there c;

I also really loved the scene where Hit Girl grabs a pile of broken glass and takes it and stabs Mother Russia with it.  I don't know, I just really loved how Hit Girl travels down MR's body, stabbing her one by one.  If I was Brooke, I would've vomited all over Mindy ;3  And when the first girl vomited, why didn't the others run away instead of just sitting there and allowing Mindy to use the sick stick on them?

God, I really need to see that movie again sometime xDD

P.S.  When Mindy gave that girl with the glasses who was talking to the mean girls at lunch, why didn't she thank Mindy?  I mean seriously, I would've honestly thanked her and hugged her really tightly.

Well I'm always down to discuss Kick-Ass! ;P

It was pretty cool how they did that, but I have to be honest: I'm disappointed they didn't have her decapitate Mother Russia like in the comic. I was just waiting for it to happen then... it didn't. D: The comic version was just really powerful, and that would have been so hardcore to see translated on screen!

LOL you have a point there! I was kinda thinking that too: hey guys, maybe you shouldn't just sit there?

I KNOW RIGHT? Dude, she just handed you a shit-ton of money, maybe you should... oh I don't know... say thank you?

Hehe, you know I will as well ;D

I love that scene so much, it's so badass   After doing a ton of research on that scene, I actually found out that they weren't going to show that scene since it's too intense and bloody.  But I knew they had to do a version of it.   But I really hated how they changed Katie's role to Night Bitch.  Katie was only there for like. . . a minute?  in total of all of her scenes in Kick Ass 2?  She wasn't even that important xP

But everything seemed to work out fine, I guess.  And like they obviously didn't move b/c the director wanted them to puke as well.  But the puke scene looked so real!  Like it came out of their mouth,  they were facing the camera, not facing the other direction where the equipment people could attach something to the side of their mouth and spray puke to make it look like they were puking.  They were actually pointing to the camera.  Weird how it looked really realistic.  But the whole thing in general isn't really realistic :/

And like seriously,  that girl just gave you a shitload of money. You don't just smile and walk away!  wtf is wrong with that girl, seriously. :iconjackiechanmemeplz:

Really?? That's a bummer... I could see them doing it in the movie, I don't think it would have been TOO far-fetched. I just think that for as intense of a character as Mother Russia is, an equally intense death would have been more fitting. In the movie she just stood there getting stabbed with the glass, then just kinda fell over. Seemed a little cheap.

Totally agree about Katie! What gives?? All of Dave's hard work getting her in the first movie was tossed out the window just like that! Then he rebounds with Night Bitch? Lame.

Yeah I don't know exactly HOW they do that, but it still looked gross. Not exactly realistic, but still gross. Guess we can't analyze Kick-Ass too much for realism LOL.

Maaaaaan, if somebody gave me a shit-ton of money (any takers?) I don't know WHAT I would do but I sure would be unbelievably grateful!

Actually, the way you put it,  it makes it does seem a little cheap.  Like how can a buff woman who ate her cellmate die from just a few glass shards?   If Hit-Girl wasn't smart enough to make me inject her adrenaline, she would've been dead already.  But Hit Girl cannot die!  Like it's just isn't possible .-.

And you're totally right.  Katie was only in there for like a few seconds.  She wasn't even that important.  Actually, now to think of it, she wasn't even important.  They should've probably excluded her and said that she dumped him or something instead of actually having to make a scene about it that only lasts like ten seconds.

I didn't mean the sick stick is realistic, I mean like the way they barfed.   Like it literally came out of their mouth directly.  How the f did they do that???   WAT IS DIS SORCERY???

If Mindy gave me that much money, I wouldn't even know what to do.  I would probably hug her for like a looong time and maybe even kiss her, I mean seriously.  That's a shitload of money!

"Oh Shit" moment -
Hit Girl's first kiss (wasn't expecting that)

Favorite Part:

I loved that scene of Justice Forever infiltrating that trafficking bar, scene by scene and word for word (except the dog on your balls line) it was adapted and it was easily the best action scene in the movie

A lot of the reviews are negative but I really enjoyed it. I feel like it was pretty much the best possible movie they could have made from the source material, because I didn't like volume 2 very much. What needed to be toned down was toned down, but it was still over-the top and fun. I saw it opening night and I'm going again tomorrow.

The pimp scene from the Hit-Girl mini-series was my favorite.
